Who we are

The data controller for London Pilates Guide is Tufnell House Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17520029, registered office 178 Junction Road, London N19 5QQ. Contact: [email protected]. We have not appointed a data protection officer; privacy questions go to the same address.

Visiting this site

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking. It loads no third party fonts or embeds. It uses two small scripts: a built in filter for the studio list, which runs in your browser and sends nothing to us, and a script added by our host Cloudflare that hides email addresses from spam robots. Neither sets cookies or stores anything on your device.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs and for security, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Your browser may also send Cloudflare a short technical report if a page fails to load. Cloudflare may process this data outside the UK, including in the United States, under the safeguards described in Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not use this data to identify visitors.

Links to studio websites, booking pages and Google Maps take you to sites we do not control, with their own privacy policies.

Studio listings

What we hold. Listings contain business information: studio name, address and postcode, phone number, email address if the studio publishes one, website and booking link, the class types its website mentions, any intro offer it shows, opening hours if published, and the date we checked. Some studios are run by a named individual, such as a sole trader instructor, so a listing may include that person's name, business phone number, business email or business address. We do not hold home addresses or any special category data.

Where it comes from. We did not collect this information from you. It comes from the studio's own public website, read by our crawler (LondonPilatesGuideBot), which follows robots.txt rules. The borough and area shown come from the postcode, using Office for National Statistics postcode data via postcodes.io, licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0 (contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right; contains Royal Mail data © Royal Mail copyright and database right). Area names come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL).

Why and on what basis. We use it to publish a free guide that helps people find Pilates studios in London. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We think this is fair because the information is business contact information the studio has already published on its own website so that customers can find it, a listing helps the studio be found, and anyone can ask us to correct or remove it.

Who can see it. Listings are published on this website, so anyone can see them. Our host Cloudflare stores the site. We do not sell or share listing data with anyone else.

How long we keep it. A listing stays while the studio's website shows it is operating. We recheck the data at least once a year and remove studios that have closed. If you ask us to remove a listing, we remove it from the site within 7 days and keep only a short record of the request so the listing is not added back.

Order. Studios are listed alphabetically. We make no automated decisions about individuals.

If you are named in a listing you can ask us to correct or remove it, or object to it, by emailing [email protected]. We aim to act within 7 days.

If you email us

If you email us, we use your name, email address and what you send only to deal with your request, on the basis of our legitimate interest in replying. Our email is provided by Microsoft (Outlook), which may process it outside the UK under its own safeguards. We keep emails for up to 12 months after your request is closed and then delete them, except a short record of any correction or removal request, which we keep while the site runs so the change is not reversed.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for marketing.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict our use of it, and to object to our use of it. To use these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month at the latest.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
